      Showcase your passion for risk-management and procurement principles in this analytical role.

      Reporting to the Provincial Recreation Section Head, this position serves as a procurement/contract specialist for BC Parks’ Capital Investment Program. The position leads complex procurement processes, provides procurement and contract support and advice to all Capital Investment team members, and leads procurement that is considered high profile, high risk, high dollar value and politically sensitive.

      Job Requirements:

      • Degree or higher in a related field (procurement and contract management, learning and development, risk management, law, or business or public administration, etc.) and two (2) years of *related experience; OR
      • Diploma in a related field (procurement and contract management, learning and development, risk management, law, or business or public administration, etc.) and four (4) years of *related experience; OR
      • An equivalent combination of education and six (6) years of *related experience may be considered.


      *Related experience must include any two (2) of the following:

      • Experience in the full procurement life cycle such as leading procurement processes, drafting procurement documents, analyzing complex issues, evaluating options and recommending solutions.
      • Experience working with contract law, trade agreements, public and/or private procurement policy and Government and/or private procurement practices and issues.
      • Experience developing options and recommendations for presentation to senior leadership.


      Preference may be given to applicants with one (1) or more of the following:

      • Experience advising on public and/or private procurement policy
      • Experience advising on conflict resolution.
      • Experience writing contracts and schedules, including drafting custom contract clauses for approval by legal counsel.
      • Experience working with pre-qualified lists, standing offer lists, and supplier agreements.

      About this Position:
      Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 3 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
      This position may be performed from any of the following BC Parks office locations: Courtenay, Cranbrook, Chilliwack, Fort St John, Kamloops, Nanaimo, Nelson, North Vancouver, Penticton, Prince George, Smithers, Squamish, Terrace, Vernon, Victoria, Williams Lake.
      An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
      This is a temporary opportunity until 12/20/2024.
      A permanent appointment may result from this temporary appointment.
