      The Food and Beverage Branch leads market and business development activities for farmers, food processors and Indigenous communities as well as key initiatives such as Buy BC, Feed BC, and the B.C. Food Hub Network.

      As a member of the Market Development and Trade Unit, the Marketing Specialist leads the planning, research, development, and implementation of marketing activities that promote B.C.’s agriculture, food, and seafood products and support the development of priority markets.

      Job Requirements:

      • University degree in commerce, business administration, marketing, communications, or a directly related field; OR
      • A Diploma in commerce, business administration, marketing, communications, or a directly related field, and two (2) years of related experience.

        Related experience must include:
        • Experience working in a government, business, marketing or communications role.
      • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in the following:
        • Writing content across various platforms, including but not limited to, website copy, social media posts, email campaigns, presentations and marketing material.
        • Identifying key performance indicators, utilizing analytical tools to measure performance, and optimize strategies based on data insights.
        • Developing social media campaigns, including developing a platform-specific content calendar, posting content, and engaging with the audience.
        • Managing projects from inception to completion.
      • A minimum of one (1) year of experience using WordPress or similar content management systems (CMS) to create and update website content.


      Preference may be given to applicants with any of the following:

      • Experience working in the agriculture, food and/or seafood sectors.
      • Experience working with graphic design programs such as Adobe InDesign and/or Adobe Illustrator.
      • Experience in user experience research and/or design.

      About this Position:
      Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
      This position can be based in any Agriculture and Food office. The locations listed above are to assist applicants in searching for this opportunity and are not a complete list of locations.
      This is a temporary opportunity until January 4, 2026. A permanent appointment may result from this temporary appointment.
