      Apply your expertise in program and policy analysis to support exceptional service delivery

      The Research and Technology Branch provides research, analysis and strategic advice on policy issues that have long term implications for the health care system, the delivery of health care services, and the health research community in British Columbia. The branch works with all divisions of the Ministry of Health, and typically with multiple divisions on any given project. As well, the branch works with health authorities, universities and other research organizations, other Ministries, the Premier’s Office and Cabinet, the federal government and other provincial governments.

      The Policy Analyst provides policy development and analytic support by managing projects related to issues of strategic significance to the Ministry of Health, the healthcare system, and the public, and providing senior level policy advice on significant issues.

      Job Requirements:

      • Degree in economics, public health, public administration or other social science, or a natural science (e.g. biology);
      • OR, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
      • Minimum two (2) years of experience researching policy issues and conducting policy analysis.
      • Minimum two (2) years of experience managing projects and/or project components.
      • Minimum two (2) years of experience drafting reports, briefing notes, and other materials for senior leadership.
      • Preference may be given to applicants with experience in health economics.

      This position can be based in any of the following Ministry of Health offices: Burnaby, Duncan, Kelowna, Langley, New Westminster, Vancouver, Victoria

      Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home a few days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
