      A dynamic role for a skilled project manager with excellent research and communication skills

      The Ministry of Mental Health and Addictions leads the Province of British Columbia (BC) in efforts to improve the mental well-being and reduce substance use-related harms for all British Columbians. The ministry has overall responsibility for the development of a coherent, accessible, and culturally safe mental health and addictions system that is effective for individuals and families across the lifespan throughout the province. The Partnerships and Engagement Branch has overall accountability for the development and implementation of the ministry’s strategic needs that involve external engagement and social marketing components for mental health and addictions.

      The Project and Marketing Advisor is responsible for leading the design and development of digital platforms to support the ministry’s strategic marketing and engagement goals. The position is accountable for providing innovative solutions to build strong relationships between the ministry and rights holder groups and to identify, document and resolve issues that challenge or impact the engagement goals of the ministry.

      Job Requirements:

      • Degree, diploma or certification in marketing, business administration, public administration, or an equivalent combination of related experience, education or training.
      • Experience in marketing and/or strategic planning and independently managing projects applying project management principles and techniques.
      • Experience working with partners within and outside of government.
      • Experience directing the work of others (professional employees and/or contractors).


      Preference may be given to applicants:

      • With one (1) or more years’ experience in social marketing or project management.
      • With experience working with Indigenous organizations and communities.
      • With lived experience or experience working with populations with complex health and social challenges.
      • Who self-identify as First Nations, Métis or Inuit with the required combination of education and experience.

      About this Position:
      Remote work is allowed, this position can work up to full time from their home in British Columbia subject to an approved telework agreement.
