The Senior Negotiations Analyst leads the research, analysis and development of options for negotiations to advance the ministry’s interests respecting treaty and other negotiations with First Nations and Canada.
The Analyst is a member of the Negotiations and regional Operations Division of the Ministry of Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation. The Analyst works closely with other divisions, regional offices and line agencies, participates as a member of the provincial negotiating team, helps with decision support, and inter-agency communication.
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Resource Management, Public Administration, First Nations Studies, Law, Economics or related field, and a minimum 1 years’ related experience.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.Related experience must include the following:
• Experience with project management that includes coordinating and implementing research projects.
• Experience supporting or participating in the negotiation of treaties, agreements, or other forms of engagement with Indigenous organizations or communities.
• Experience developing briefing notes, policy memos or equivalent materials (presentations, research reports, etc).
• Experience working with multiple stakeholders.Preference may be given to applicants with the following:
• Experience researching and analysing interests related to land, natural resources, and multi-party interests.
• Experience working with government interpreting legislation and policy.

About this Position:
This position can be based out of any of the locations listed above.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
