- Degree in Emergency Management, Business Administration, or a related field PLUS two (2) years of related* experience; OR
- Diploma in Emergency Management, Business Administration, or a related field PLUS four (4) years of related* experience; OR
- Certificate in Emergency Management, Business Administration, or a related field PLUS five (5) years of related* experience; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Related* experience must include all the following:
- Experience building and managing collaborative relationships with multiple partners (different levels of government, First Nations etc.), including senior management and executive to develop and support project development.
- Experience organizing, developing, facilitating and leading workshops and emergency exercises with different levels of government, First Nations etc.
- Experience preparing contracts, leading project teams (consisting of professionals/subject matter experts) and directing the work of others (contractors, external partners).
- Experience leading and managing complex projects of large scale that have multiple project delivery components.
- Experience managing relationships with senior level partners (different levels of government, First Nations etc.) and leading partner engagement sessions including issues management and conflict resolution.
- Experience synthesizing and analyzing large amounts of information and data and summarizing and identifying issues/trends and generating options/recommendations in writing.
- Preference may be given to applicants with formal project management training and/or certification.
- Work on-call and extended hours during emergencies and disasters.
- Travel to other regions.
The Team
The Integrated Partnerships for Regional Emergency Management (IPREM) team is focused on enhancing emergency management across the Metro Vancouver region by fostering collaboration among diverse partners. This new team, composed of three full-time Senior Project Managers, thrives in a dynamic environment where innovation is encouraged, and meaningful impact is made. Team members work closely with emergency coordinators, policy advisors, and contractors from different levels of government, contributing to the goal of building a disaster-resilient region. The team values collaboration, continuous learning, and inclusivity, and is looking for passionate individuals ready to make a difference in public service and community engagement.
The Role
The IPREM Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading and managing multiple complex projects aimed at improving emergency management plans and programs. The role involves collaboration with local governments, First Nations, Provincial and Federal Governments, and partner agencies to enhance regional planning and ensure effective emergency preparedness. With a focus on equity and inclusion, the position ensures that diverse voices and perspectives are considered in developing robust, integrated solutions that benefit all communities.

About this Position:
Three (3) Positions available.
This position can be based in any of the following Ministry of Emergency Management and Climate Readiness offices: Saanichton, Victoria, Kamloops, Nelson, Prince George, Surrey or Smithers.
There is one (1) temporary opportunity until August 8, 2025. This position may be extended or become permanent.
There are two (2) temporary opportunities until October 2, 2026. These positions may be extended or become permanent.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to five (5) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
Flexible work options may not be available during emergency operations response periods.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
