- Supervises, hires, and reviews employees.
- Develops and implements TCADRP.
- Administers mediator payments and subsidies.
- Develops and administers annual budget.
- Recruits, trains, and retains mediators.
- Performs community outreach and works with local boards and committees.
- Conducts mediations and other ADR processes.
- Assesses and improves service delivery methods.
- Ensures legal compliance of TCADRP.
- Conducts organizational visioning and implementation.
- Engages internal stakeholders.
- Attends continuing education and training in alternative dispute resolution.
- Performs all other duties as required.
Summary
The Director position develops, oversees, and manages the Tarrant County Alternative Dispute Resolution Program (TCADRP), which assists litigants in reaching settlements of their legal and generally court-connected disputes.
The Director provides executive strategic and tactical direction and support to various County departments and courts. Duties include developing and implementing TCADRP as well as determining, delegating, and reviewing work assignments, the delivery of services and resources provided, and the appropriate budgets required.
The Director reviews and ensures the training, qualifications, evaluation, and development of employees and service providers.
The Director provides interpretation of and ensures compliance with ADR-related policies, requirements, and laws.

Minimum Requirements
NOTE: YOU MUST FILL OUT THE WORK HISTORY and EDUCATION SECTIONS OF APPLICATION TO SHOW YOU HAVE YEARS OF EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION AS REQUIRED BY HIRING DEPARTMENT OR BE DISQUALIFIED.
TO APPLY, must have a Bachelor’s degree or higher.
TO APPLY, must have Five (5) full-time years of mediation, court-related, and community engagement experience.
A basic mediation training program must be completed within six (6) months of hire.
Family mediation training recommended.Knowledge and skills related to mediation, mediation processes, and alternative dispute resolution systems around the state and county; budgetary development and implementation; and program development and administration.
Knowledge of legal system is necessary.
If hired, must provide proof of educational attainment
at New Hire Processing or during the promotional process.
Tarrant County will conduct background checks on new hires that will include a criminal background check related to convictions and deferred adjudications in the past seven years and may include credit reports, motor vehicle records, employment records and educational attainment. A conviction or deferred adjudication is not an automatic bar to employment. Each case is considered individually.Physical Demands and Work Environment & Other Requirements
While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, push and pull.
