- Qualified and registered Nurse, Social worker, or Allied Health care professional
- Educated to Masters degree level or equivalent, or on course to achieve certification
- Experience of working previously in a ICB or NHS setting
- Have substantial clinical professional experience relating to the care of adults and safeguarding.
- Extensive knowledge of evidence based adult safeguarding practice including experience in complex adult safeguarding case management
- Currently practicing in the field of safeguarding adults with an understanding of legislation relating to adults with care and support needs
- Experience in supervising and advising staff in safeguarding adults.
- Experience of working across organisational boundaries in health and social care
- Experience of working with local Safeguarding Adults Board and sub-committees and contributing to Safeguarding Adult Reviews and section 42 enquiries and domestic homicide reviews
- Experience of developing strategies, clinical guidelines and policies for safeguarding adults
- Experience of developing and delivering education, training and support strategies for safeguarding
- Experience of making judgements involving highly complex situations and implement

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated Designate Nurse/Professional with initiative and drive who can work as part of a team and a system to ensure and promote the safeguarding and well-being of adults living in Kent and Medway.
Kent and Medway ICB Safeguarding Team are continuing to develop and shape the way we work together across the NHS and provider landscape. We have an inclusive team of safeguarding professionals, who work collaboratively with services, partners, and key stakeholders to improve the quality of life for adults who find themselves in need of being safeguarded
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work in collaboration with colleagues in the ICB safeguarding team across Kent and Medway, to provide a key leadership role for Safeguarding Adults across our health economy and will be essential in ensuring that the ICB fulfils their statutory safeguarding adult duties. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate skill and expertise in Safeguarding Adults and Mental Capacity Act (2005).
Provide expert advice and direction on all aspects of safeguarding adults including Mental Capacity, Prevent and Domestic Abuse, to ensure that health service contributions are coordinated and integrated across Kent and Medway. Work with and support the role of the Designated Nurse Safeguarding Adults. Contribute your highly specialised safeguarding knowledge to the strategic planning and commissioning of services, ensuring proportionate and effective contract monitoring, assurance, and performance management processes.
