- Req#: 240921
- Inpatient management and rounds with Surgeons.
- Act as first or second assist in Operating room. Surgically close wounds, incision and drainage, debridement and dressing.
- Perioperative care coordination and patient education to enhance the care of the pediatric orthopedic patient.
- Evaluate orthopedic Consults within Arnold Palmer Hospital and Winnie Palmer Hospital.
- Outpatient clinic responsibilities including specialty clinics, satellite clinic opportunities, post-operative and trauma follow-ups, and acute care visits.
- Holidays, weekend and night coverage dependent on staffing needs and patient acuity
- Certified as a Pediatric Primary Care or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner; or certified as Physician Assistant.
- Current active certification and licensure in the State of Florida as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant.
- Maintains current BLS and PALS certification.
- Two years of pediatric or general surgery experience desired.
- Neurosurgical, Trauma or Orthopedics experience is a plus but not required.
- Surgery, Critical Care, Trauma, or ED Fellowship trained APP desired.
- Will consider new graduates.

Job Summary
The advanced practice provider provides inpatient/ outpatient management, consultations, and co-management of patients in the acute care and practice setting.
Responsibilities
QualificationsEducation/Training
Master’s degree or Doctorate degree in Nursing as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant Studies.
Licensure/Certification
Experience
Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Advanced Practice Provider in Pediatrics preferred, preferably a surgical specialty.
