- Undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
- Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation
- Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
- Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols
- Providing counselling and health education
- Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
- Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible)
- Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
- In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
- Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety

Job summary
We are looking for an experienced ANP to join our friendly and supportive team at Excel Primary Care. We seek an enthusiastic, well-motivated, flexible individual with excellent clinical and communication skills who will play an active role in the services offered to our patients.
The advertised post is part time hours we are looking to offer between 4-8 sessions per week. As a practice we offer a late night clinic (6:30pm-8:30pm), flexibility on working hours would be desirable.

We are an NHS GP Practices that is responsible for the care of more than 18,000 patients, serving the community in Skelmersdale and Upholland. We have 3 sites, 2 based in Skelmersdale and 1 in Upholland.
The doctors and staff at Excel Primary Care are proud to offer the highest standard of patient-centred healthcare.
We run many clinics for the management of chronic diseases such as asthma and diabetes and offer a wide variety of other medical services including antenatal and postnatal care, minor surgery, childhood vaccinations and NHS Health checks.
Our clinical team comprising of 4 GP Partners, locum GPs, 4 ANP's plus a highly experienced nursing and HCA team. A First Contact Physio, Clinical Pharmacists, Paramedics, Practice Manager, Assistant Practice Managers, and an experienced reception/administration staff which make up a great team.
