Job summary
Leeds Community Healthcare Podiatry Service provides a community based service for the assessment and treatment of podiatric and lower limb pathologies. Our team of Podiatrists and Assistant Practitioners provide the most appropriate advice, treatment and where appropriate onward referral and signposting to meet the individual needs of patients. The service consists of a variety of specialisms, including, wound care, self-management, biomechanics and musculoskeletal, diabetes and mental health. We have various Band 7 posts available including permanent and fixed term contracts, covering Biomechanics (foot and ankle) and High Risk. We welcome applications for full time, part time or flexible working.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidates will have the ambition to drive forward high clinical standards within the fields of paediatrics and adult biomechanics and the high risk foot. You will be required to undertake highly skilled and specialised lower limb assessments. You will formulate, develop and deliver individualised treatment plans based upon evidence based practice and appropriate clinical reasoning. This will include liaising with secondary care for advice and onward referral where necessary. You will require excellent clinical leadership skills and the ability to develop effective relationships in a multi professional working environment. Experience in contributing to quality and innovation is essential, as is a commitment to ongoing personal development. The post includes travel across the Trust carrying a variety of equipment, due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle.

In doing so, they will assess, plan, deliver and evaluate patient centred programmes of care ensuring that they practice within their sphere of competence and knowledge. The post holder will work to professional and regulatory body codes, standards and guidance at all times ensuring that their practice is grounded in evidence based theoretical and practical knowledge.
