- Assesses the physical and psychosocial status of patients by means of interview, health history, physical examination, diagnostic studies and recognizes deviations from the normal. Then develops a diagnosis and works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to formulate and implements the treatment plan.
- Implements appropriate management based on laboratory results, physical assessment, routine diagnostic and follow-up studies, therapeutic measures, admission, and discharge care in accordance with evidence-based medicine.
- Dictates and documents in an accurate and timely manner.
- Performs patient education and maintains provision of preventive health services.
- Conducts or participates in multidisciplinary rounds.
- Participates in the department on call rotation and/ or weekend/holiday rounding as required.
- Prescribe medication.
- Participates in quality initiatives to ensure consistent attainment of key quality indicators.
- Acts as a role model and resource person for staff.
- Participates in review and revision of policies and procedures.
- Establishes relationships with professional and other health-related groups within the community.
- Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication with diverse populations, including physicians, employees, patients, and families.
- MN or MSN or DNP or PhD or DNS degree in nursing.
- Graduate of accredited physician assistant program.
- APRN license in the state of Florida.
- After July 1, 2006, licensure applicants are required to have national advanced certification from an approved nursing specialty board.
- Maintains current BLS certification.
- Maintain current physician assistant licensure in State of Florida.
- Maintain current BLS/healthcare certification.
- None

Position summary
This APP will be responsible for providing occupational health services to Orlando Health team members including but not limited to pre-employment physicals, workers compensation visits, and bloodborne pathogen/exposure visits. This APP will perform lab reviews, chart reviews, and will screen and respond to patient calls and messages as needed. This provider will be primarily based at our downtown Orlando location but occasional travel to Central Florida satellite locations may be required.
