What you will do:

• Support the Crude Oil/NGL commodity invoicing and settlement process, which includes entry of tariffs, shipper balance volumes, and other relevant information into systems (Egistix & Oracle Cloud)

• Liase with Front Office trading/marketing staff to ensure accuracy of results

• Work with Technology partners to problem solve and develop efficient/effective technology-based solutions to enhance effectiveness and efficiency

• Perform actuals to estimates variance analysis

• Prepare, verify, and input journal entries

• Analysis and verification of revenue, cost of sales, margins, and inventory valuation

• Assist with development, documentation, and effective operation of financial controls

• Liase with customers to ensure timely and accurate settlement of commodity (crude oil) transactions

• Support colleagues under tight deadlines, and take on tasks for which you may not be directly accountable

Who you are:

You have:

• A University degree in a related financial discipline.

• 4 or more years of relevant working experience in a financial environment.

• The ability to think “outside the box” to propose, develop, and implement technology-based process efficiencies and relevant reporting solutions.

• A professional accounting designation (CPA), or in the process of obtaining is preferred but not required.

You can:

• Demonstrate acumen for technology/systems.

• Demonstrate the ability to manage complex Front Office processes and Corporate Office relationships.

• Show effective communication that can develop collaborative working relationships with internal/external customers.

• Demonstrate working knowledge of complex financial system applications preferably with previous experience with Oracle Cloud, Smartview, HFM, Power BI, Egistix, OpenLink/Endur.

You are:

• Someone who is competent in Power BI (with the ability to build intermediate-level Power BI reports), and MS Excel (with the ability to organize and analyze large volumes of data using functionalities, such as, Pivot Tables, Index, Match, VLOOKUP, Logical functions, etc.) will be a plus.

• Someone with working knowledge of highly specialized oil marketing accounting, operating and risk systems considered an asset (Egistix, OpenLink/Endur).

• Someone who can navigate a large, complex organization.

Working Conditions:

• High degree of coordination necessary within immediate Accounting Team, as well as with Front office (traders), and external counterparties

• Dynamic commodity trading working environment involving Front Office, Middle Office and Back Office.

• Deadline driven with competing priorities, often necessitating flexible working hours

• Business Unit (Tidal Energy Marketing) within a large/company

• Open-concept office
