      Purpose

      Contributes to the overall success of Advisor-led marketing for Scotiabank’s Global Wealth Management business lines in Canada. Works day-to-day with advisory teams in their designated region to enable core advisor-led marketing strategies (including templates, materials, collateral, and creative initiatives) delivered in support of the broader business line and brand strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are following governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

      Accountabilities

      • Champions a client-focused culture, deepening client relationships by leveraging broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
      • Supports prospect acquisition opportunities and projects by executing on the delivery of the marketing needs of Advisors across Canada, and the growth of their business line, while measuring results effectively to determine success.
      • Ensures that marketing activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations (CIRO/IIROC/MFDA), internal policies, style guidelines, and procedures.
      • Develops and leverages key relationships across a network of trusted partners which include the business line management team, advisory panels, Marketing, Technology, Compliance, National Supervision, Legal and relevant vendors.
      • Advocates for the brand and ensures brand styling oversight is applied across Advisor initiatives to both protect the brand and raise awareness, while driving support and inclusion of the brand’s value proposition.
      • Champions a high-performance environment and demonstrates a commitment to Scotiabank’s values: accountability, passion, integrity, and respect.       • Directs day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank’s risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits.
      • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook, and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

      Qualifications

      • A university or college degree, preferably in marketing, communications, or business administration and/or 5+ years of marketing experience
      • Excellent communication skills combined with effective relationship-building abilities
      • Understands the investment industry and compliance regulations and requirements
      • Effectively works autonomously, independently and with a strong ability to meet deadlines
      • Strong project management skills with ability to take initiative to ensure successful outcomes
      • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence a variety of audiences to new points of view
      • Ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team environment that can include varying skills/competencies.
      • Strong conceptual abilities and excellent perseverance to solve problems and adapt solutions across a wide range of prospect and client segments
      • Strong writing skills, experience in creative writing
      • Solid knowledge of creative studio design and production processes
      • Sound knowledge of marketing disciplines with experience in Marketing Planning, Communications and Branding
      • Proficiency in Microsoft suite and Adobe Pro
      • Industry-related designations/courses:
        • Canadian Securities Course (CSC)
        • Conduct and Practices Handbook (CPH)
      • Bilingual in English and French is strongly preferred
