    • Facilitate use of the district daily advisory calendar for each grade level
    • Monitor MyPath or other academic lessons that occur two consecutive days per week
    • Monitor CharacterStrong lessons that occur two consecutive days per week
    • Attends monthly Advisory Facilitator District meetings and provides regular updates to building leadership to support successful implementation of advisory.
    • Collaborates with data coach to identify student needs
    • Adapts Advisory plans to meet unique needs of school
    • Sends out surveys and aggregate data for Character Strong
    • Lead professional learning on Character Strong, Flex Days
    • Serves as the main source of communication with staff about Middle School Advisory
    • Consults with School Improvement Team to identify Tier 1 supports and works with various school and district-based teams to provide data, evaluate implementation, and construct plans for next steps to ensure student success.
    • Creates an environment conducive to learning and motivates students through effective communication and evaluative feedback.
    • Displays a thorough knowledge of curriculum and subject matter.
    • Plans for and guides the learning process toward the mastery of curriculum goals, and establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects that are clearly communicated to students
    • Utilizes instruction technology and electronic resources to develop student centered learning opportunities.
    • Collaborates with colleagues, students, and/or parents on a regular basis, and as requested by the administration.
    • Performs other duties as assigned by the principal, or other administrative staff
    • Bachelor’s degree in related subject from regionally accredited university preferred.
    • Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
    • Related work experience preferred.
    • Teaching, counseling or social work experience is preferred.
    • Requires prolonged sitting or standing.
    • Occasionally requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push objects or materials up to 30 lbs. with proper technique.
    • Occasional stooping, bending, and reaching.
    • This position is compensated with a $2000 stipend for the school year. Advisory facilitators will not supervise an Advisory class.

      Function / Position Summary
      To provide quality middle school advisory experiences during the school year for students

      Job Duties / Responsibilities

      Education
