- Contribute to the delivery of strategic products and program design and evaluation processes by undertaking research and analysis and preparing briefings and reports relating to the AFP's international presence.
- Support reviews and evaluations of the AFP's Pacific Policing Partnership Programs.
- Support implementation of the AFP's International Gender Strategy, including via mainstreaming of gender and inclusion considerations.
- Build and maintain relationships with AFP and external stakeholders, including at inter and intra-agency fora and meetings.
- Build and maintain subject matter expertise through ongoing professional development and learning opportunities.
- Provide ad hoc administrative assistance to support the team's tasks.
- Assist coordinating input into briefing material for AFP and International Command Executives relating to high-level national and international forums.
- Assist coordinating input into ministerial, parliamentary, policy and media responses on matters relating to the AFP's international presence, including, cabinet submissions, and national security committees.
- Assist developing and maintaining awareness of the AFP's role and any linkage to policy and operational papers and requests from other government departments.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes on a continuous basis and enhance the knowledge of the team.
- Provide ad hoc administrative assistance to support team tasks.
- Demonstrated coordination skills, with experience managing competing priorities and achieving results in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong writing skills, with the ability to write quickly and succinctly using plain language.
- Demonstrated stakeholder engagement skills, with experience communicating effectively with a range of audiences.
- The ability to effectively collaborate across teams and build productive professional networks.
- Competency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint software.
- A willingness for short-term international travel (for some roles only).
- You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.
- A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
- Prior experience in policing, national security and/or program management, particularly in the international context.
- Contemporary knowledge and experience relevant to the role and/or relevant studies (for example, international relations, national security, strategic studies, development...etc.).

What is the role?
If this sounds like you, a career in the Australian Federal Police's International Command could be waiting for you.
This process will be used to fill current and anticipated roles in the AFP's International Strategy and International Engagement Branches within International Command, including in Strategy, Design and Evaluation and the Executive Support Team.
Strategy, Design and Evaluation (SDE) delivers a range of strategic products and program design and evaluation services for the AFP's international network and police development programs. SDE includes and International Gender Team who deliver training and support to promote gender and inclusion in policing and improve prevention and response to gender-based crime wherever the AFP operates internationally. Some roles within SDE may require short periods of international travel.
The Executive Support Team provides support to AFP Senior Executives and supports the AFP's engagement with international stakeholders. Successful candidates will gain a high level of visibility of the breadth of the AFP's mission and objectives - particularly on national security and international matters and will liaise with stakeholders across the organisation as well as other government departments.
You will also be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments.

Additional Information
These positions have been advertised in multiple locations however, the roles are located in Canberra. Successful applicants must be willing to relocate to Canberra.
