      Job Summary:
      We are looking to add After School Enrichment Specialists to our team. As an Enrichment Specialist you will provide direct early intervention services and enrichment activities to youth in the OCO's After School programs.

      Job Duties and Responsibilities:
      Provides consistent, non-judgmental services using a youth development approach
      Provides oversight to ensure the safety and well-being of consumers including maintaining professional boundaries and role modeling positive behavior
      Handles routine situations that arise and seeks assistance on unusual situations; reports concern to appropriate personnel
      Monitors the physical and emotional well-being of participants, addresses issues to ensure health and safety of all
      Plans and facilitates group enrichment activities; must be able to manage a group size of 15 youth
      Assists youth with activities to meet their needs, including planning/participating in recreational/social activities, following program guidelines, and reinforcement of limits and boundaries
      Communicates pertinent information to co-workers and supervisors
      Assists youth in contacting and connecting with resources, both internally and external to OCO
      Assists in maintaining positive relationships with school personnel and the public ad provides contacts with parents to engage in program
      Completes all documentation accurately, as required, including electronic records
      Carries out other related duties and special projects as assigned

      Job Requirements:
      Must be able to work effectively with youth
      Must have the ability to work with others in a warm, non-judgmental manner and be a positive role model
      Must be able to assess situations, exercise good judgment, carry out duties appropriately and know when to refer difficult situations for assistance
      Must have the ability to work with populations with special needs, including those that may exhibit aggressive behaviors
      Must maintain strict confidentiality of agency, program and consumer information
      Must demonstrate the knowledge of regulations, services, rights and responsibilities for the population served
      Must have necessary oral and written communication skills as well as basic skills for word processing and data entry
      Must be flexible with work schedule in order to meet the needs of the program
      Must obtain and maintain all required certifications and trainings within required timeframes and attend internal and external meetings and training sessions as assigned/required
      Must have acceptable health to carry out the responsibilities of the position, including repetitive lifting of 50 lbs.
      Must have a valid NYS Driver’s license with driving record within policy and access to a properly insured, reliable vehicle
      Must obtain and maintain OCO van certification
      Must be familiar with the geographical layout of the county and have knowledge of human service resources in the county

      Minimum Qualifications:
      High School Diploma or equivalent, and
      12 months experience working with children under 13 years of age; or
      Any Equivalent combination of education, experience and training relevant to this position.
