      Power Hour is an academic support program designed to help members develop academic, behavioral, and social skills through homework completion, high-yield learning activities, and tutoring that encourages Club members of every age to become self-directed learners.

      Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes

      1. Age Requirement: Volunteers must be 16 years old or older.

      2. Time Commitment: 1 hour per week or more between 2pm-6pm on weekdays. Consistency is important, so a regular schedule is highly encouraged.

      3. Onboarding Process: Application, reference checks, background check, fingerprinting, online training, and orientation.

      4. Attire: No inappropriate words on clothing. Jeans and shorts are acceptable. Tight or revealing clothing is not allowed. Wear clothes suitable for getting dirty and closed-toed shoes.

      5. Physical Requirements: No specific physical abilities are required. The space is wheelchair accessible, and reasonable accommodations can be made with 10 workdays' notice for individuals with disabilities or complex needs.

      6. Required Skills/Experience: Experience with the subject matter (math, English, or science) for the age being tutored.

      7. Desired Skills/Experience: Teaching or tutoring experience, especially in math, science, and/or English. Spanish speaking is a plus.
