Provide high-quality, targeted, and enriching programming.

Build strong relationships with parents, children, and school administrators/teachers.

Attend all meetings that are pertinent to this position, including monthly staff meetings.

Ensure the safety and security of students, staff, and community members.

Ensure student-centric, well-organized, effective, and developmentally appropriate learning environments.

Adhere to the Policies and Procedures in the Employee and Afterschool Manuals.

Respond to and support children’s social-emotional and wellbeing needs.
-
Develop and maintain open and appropriate communication with parents, students, volunteers, and school staff.

Provide activity planning, preparation, resources, and leadership for afterschool activities, projects, and childcare programming.

Serve as a homework support resource in the afterschool program.
-
Assist with administrative support and coverage as needed.

Ensure the highest quality program development and administration.

Support children and teachers in responding to a range of student needs in positive, instructive, and impactful ways.

Support the Extended Day Manager with the afternoon dismissal and bus process. Ensuring accurate and comprehensive lists, permissions, attendance, and parent support.

Perform other duties as assigned.

The After School Counselor is responsible for helping to maintain a safe, engaging, and enriching After School and Extended Day experience, ensuring a high level of program quality. The After School Counselor serves as a positive role model and ensures positive experiences and outcomes for all children.

Education:
High School Diploma and at two years of experience working with children in a group setting. Bachelors preferred.
Skills and Characteristics
Excellent communication skills in all formats, including but not limited to written, spoken, in-person, and digital.
Demonstrate the ability to forge relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and the community.
Consistently demonstrate organizational and technology skills.
Demonstrate resourcefulness in setting priorities and working successfully with people and systems.
Self-directed with the ability to set and achieve goals and outcomes.-
