What you will be doing

You will be on a development pathway to prepare you to be a Graduate Procurement (Commercial) and can expect to be involved in the following:

Around 80% of Airbus’ activity is sourced from external supply partners. Working with more than 12,000 suppliers worldwide that provide products and services for flying and non-flying parts, joining the Procurement team will put you at the heart of Airbus where you will operate in a truly international environment. The Procurement (Commercial) AGGP will provide you hands-on Procurement experience, tackling complex problems on a daily basis to ensure the best outcomes for Airbus.

During your programme you will experience working in different commodities across production procurement (direct) and general procurement (indirect) as well as the potential for you to gain valuable experience working in different functions and internationally. Throughout you will work with a diverse range of stakeholders from across the business, as well as our global supply base. Working alongside experienced buyers and senior management, you will be given responsibilities and objectives that will challenge you and offer experiences to grow your career and knowledge of procurement.

In addition to your work placements, Airbus will support you through your development journey with training courses, mentoring schemes and regular opportunities to hear from and engage with senior leaders from across the business. There are also opportunities to join a wide variety of employee networks including a dedicated Early Careers network, Generation Airbus, Pride@Airbus, Balance for Business, Breathe and embRACE. • Whilst every placement will be unique some of the activities you could be involved with include supporting call for tenders, negotiating claims and contracts with suppliers or undertaking analysis to devise a new product strategy for projects such as zeroE.

• Working as part of multi-functional team you could also be supporting on new product development or a special project such as a supply chain crisis

• You will become comfortable working with different IT tools such as SAP

• By the end of the programme you will have developed your skills in all elements of supplier management, negotiation and contract management

• Supporting this you will develop a range of relevant soft skills such as stakeholder management, communication and influencing

• The programme will see you undertake a variety of placements with different teams including the potential of an overseas placement.
  

At the end of the 2 year development programme you will be fully equipped to be a key player as Buyer within the Commercial Procurement team.

What we look for:

To be a successful applicant to the Airbus Global Graduate Programme, you will need to demonstrate you have:

• Educated to a degree level or equivalent within a relevant field of study

• Recently graduated or first professional experience in the field of Procurement and Supply Chain

• Strong verbal and written communication in our business language (English)

• A desire to work in a collaborative team environment, focused on driving future innovation

• The ability to be self aware and a wish to be in the driving seat of your development.

Degree type:

Candidates will have achieved a minimum 2:1 Class (or equivalent) degree in a relevant subject, such as, but not limited to, Economics, Business Management, Maths or Law.

Specific experience or interests:

Candidates should also have a full driving licence and be able to travel from time to time as may be required.

Salary: £31,000
