      Position Summary
      Responsible for overall direction of production of recycled aggregate & demolition crews for the Houston, TX area operations of the Houston District. This includes managing all aspects of safety, production, and other support functions with primary responsibility for ensuring effective execution of production performance and growth strategy.u00A0 Competency requirements include business acumen, customer focus, developing direct reports, drive for results, and strategically building effective teams.u00A0 The preferred candidate can lead and motivate within a safe team environment, experience managing managers and relevant industry experience.u00A0

      Essential Responsibilities
      • Cultivates a positive safety culture in assigned operations by championing Guardian Angel and Wing Man principles and philosophy. Builds individual accountability and rewards/recognition into safety approach. u00A0
      • Ensures daily coordination between production, delivery, distribution and quality control u00A0
      • Directs production activities to ensure strict adherence to cost and quality standards and takes immediate corrective action when deficiencies are noted; achieves production targets as directed u00A0
      • Provides leadership resulting in maximum production, working closely with Sales Manager and Dispatch Manager to exceed customer expectations, ensure product quality and drive maximum profitability u00A0
      • Provides direction to Plant Managers and Supervisors to ensure efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources u00A0
      • Builds effective teams and develop direct reports for future opportunities u00A0
      • Ensures that all personnel under their supervision comply with Federal, State and local regulations u00A0
      • Ensures company safety rules and regulations are met through periodic inspections of plant machinery, equipment, personal activities and working conditions u00A0
      • Drives operational and safety performance through continuous improvement initiatives that meet or exceed company and regional goals u00A0
      • Develops and nurtures empowerment in all phases of the operation u00A0
      • Responsible for overseeing month-end inventories u00A0
      • Interact regularly with federal and state regulators to maintain environmental records and regulatory compliance records u00A0
      • Directs the selection, training and development of all direct reports - appraises performance and takes/recommends appropriate personnel actions as necessary u00A0
      • Purchases or directs the purchase of supplies and equipment in accordance with company policy- recommends or changes vendors to reduce maintenance costs u00A0
      • Implements and reviews ongoing contracts, purchase orders, appropriations and expenditures requests u00A0
      • Coordinates with District Production Manager regarding staffing to properly and safely operate the plants u00A0
      • Coordinates these same needs with the Human Resources Department with attention on labor law compliance u00A0
      • Assists with profit plans, CERu2019s, market analyses and special reports u00A0
      • Maintains operational security u00A0
      • Develops an environment of empowerment and teamwork u00A0

      Education and Experienceu00A0
      • Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.E.) in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or other related discipline strongly preferred and/or equivalent combination of knowledge, skills and abilities u00A0
      • Ten (10) or more yearsu2019 experience in mine production or multi-plant operations preferred u00A0
      • Five (5) yearsu2019 supervisory or management experience in an aggregate or similar industrial environment u00A0
      • Working knowledge of MSHA/OSHA regulations and compliance u00A0
      • Experience working with aggregate production and all operational equipment, rail distribution, truck distribution, and project management u00A0
      • A thorough understanding of quality control processes and ASTM guidelines and specifications regarding aggregates u00A0
      • Understanding of ready mix and asphalt specifications and operations a plus u00A0
      • Must maintain a valid driveru2019s license and clean driving record u00A0

      Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
      • Computer / PC literate. Experience with MS-Office required; must become proficient in JDE, Business Analytics and other applications; experience with these applications is preferred u00A0
      • Sales, Inventory and Operational Planning (SI&OP) process familiarity a plus u00A0
      • Strong organizational and budgeting skills with attention to detail u00A0
      • Understanding of all components of plant and departmental cost and production u00A0
      • Strong commitment to safety, quality, customer service and plant cleanliness u00A0
      • Willingness to prepare for future growth potential within plant and company u00A0
      • Ability to manage an empowered workforce; must be able to lead by example and have good coaching skills and be approachable u00A0
      • Excellent interpersonal skills to facilitate positive working relationships with all levels of management and staff, customers and vendors u00A0
      • Strong written/verbal communication skills, as well as the development of formal presentations u00A0
      • Ability to communicate performance expectations and work assignments to employees u00A0
      • Ability to resolve employee performance issues and conflicts u00A0
      • Demonstrated success in managing a large group of employees u00A0
