Serves as the customer proxy by understanding key business objectives and strategy of the product
Works with business owners to ensure that they are engaged and supportive of direction
Serves as liaison with Provider Solutions and Provider Operations related to assigned responsibilities to ensure consistency between assigned solutions and implementation
Fosters solid relationships with Operational Knowledge Management to ensure consistency between new technology and Operational instruction
Works with Product Management and Stakeholders to define and prioritize the Product Backlog (refinement)
Assesses business value and prioritize all stories to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that align with product strategy
Creates User Stories and Acceptance Criteria, ensuring stories clearly communicate customer/Stakeholder needs to the development team; work with team to clarify stories as necessary
Responsible for final decisions on product functionality
Participates in and prepares for Program Increment Planning
Involved in Program Backlog Refinement
Provides clarification on User Stories and Product Backlog to the team
Supports Acceptance Test Driven Development spec by example
Accepts User Stories
Participates in team demo, retro, and Inspect and Adapt
Understands and supports enabler work
Understands and supports inter-team dependencies, and escalate issues when necessary
Works with the delivery team to set and communicate release date and scope
Works with Team Members to ensure products are working in production (potentially – depends on DevOps model)
Ability to monitor potential risks and develop mitigation plans
Identifies improvements and codifies them for broader consumption
Collaborates with SM and EM to promote an environment of empowerment and creativity.
Communicates the product roadmap clearly and inspires the team by painting target product vision
Ability to manage the product backlog including writing user stories and acceptance criteria
Knowledge of Agile development methodologies/tools and experience writing user stories
Demonstrates good understanding of gathering feedback (e.g. multi-variate testing, focus groups)
Demonstrates intermediate understanding of the technology and the ability to guide technical discussions.
Understands basic software development and deployment that enables develops capabilities such as continuous integration and deployment
Deep understanding of Agile development processes and methodology
Understands technical topics at a conceptual level as well as the systems and data that enable major capabilities and drives innovation.
Collaboration with EM and encourages the team to practice deployable software development
Managing and reporting on the value delivery by the team ensuring delivery of highest customer value product increments
Strong understanding of customer needs and business strategy
High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred
3+ years’ experience in product strategy role/Product Owner role or requirements intake role (e.g.BA) additional business training may be required for Bas
Deep knowledge of provider data, data relationships, provider data usage, and provider business / data rules
Hands on ability to root cause issues in the data and solid partnerships with Operations personnel to ensure timely and accurate resolution / removal of blockages
3+ years’ experience managing a team of 5+ people preferred
Minimum 3 years in industry preferred
Experience with Agile development strongly preferred
Agile certification a plus
Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
Role Summary:
The Agile Product Owner represents the “voice of the customer” at the team level, maintaining and prioritizing the Product Backlog, to ensure that the team is working on stories that maximize business value and deliver necessary fixes and functionality to all customers.
The incumbent provides counsel and advice to top management on significant matters, often requiring coordination between organizations. Focuses on providing thought leadership and technical expertise across multiple disciplines. Recognized internally as “the go-to person” for the most complex assignments.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload. For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 104,000 - 173,400 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
