Job Description

- Contract Duration 2+ Months
- Pay range - $65 to $70/hr
- Instructional Designer partners with cross-functional teams to conceptualize training design and content.
- Define learning objectives, course structure, learning content, and assessments.
- Complete detailed analysis of existing content and each task to be trained/supported for the target audience, business process, and systems.
- Follow company standards, guidelines, and templates to develop learning materials including student and facilitator presentations and guides, activities, scenarios, and assessments. Create instructional graphics, scenarios, or interactions. Write clear and effective instruction and facilitator text appropriate for the target audience.
- Conduct in-person and virtual meetings with subject matter experts including task analysis, alpha, beta, and answer validation meetings.
- Instructional Designer engages with subject matter experts for ongoing content review and validation. Receive and incorporate feedback. Self-manage assigned tasks and deadlines to complete deliverables. Proactively communicate issues and risks.
- Strong ILT design skills,
- Storyline experience,
- Openness to feedback and ability to pivot quickly.
- 3+ years’ experience developing instructor-led, eLearning, or virtual training.
- Experience developing training for the utility industry.
- Experience with technical writing
- Experience developing hands-on skills training in a technical environment.
- Strong knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design methodologies.
- Very strong Task Analysis knowledge and capability
- Strong knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, and Articulate Storyline.
- Flexibility to work on simultaneous development efforts, as needed.
- A bachelor's degree is ideal but not required
- Knowledge of QuestionMark and Author-it.
- Comfortable and capable of working on a High Performing Team
- Safety knowledge is strongly desired
- Must live and work within the service area
- Available to travel 5% to 15% of the time to local (i.e. Livermore, San Ramon, Winters) and remote locations in California, as needed.
- Candidates must live and work within the service territory. Travel will be 5% to 15% to Livermore, San Ramon, Winters, and other locations as needed.
- PPE will be provided. If it is determined that a visit to a hydro powerhouse is required.
