  POSITION SUMMARY:

  The AI Security Engineer is responsible for engineering security solutions to protect artificial intelligence (AI) systems — including their algorithms, data, and models — from threats, vulnerabilities and attacks that could compromise their integrity, availability, and confidentiality.

  ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Risk Assessments and Threat Modelling: Conduct detailed risk assessments and develop threat models to identify potential security issues.
  • Threat Detection and Mitigation: Implement strategies for detecting, preventing, and mitigating threats against AI systems.
  • Research and Evaluation: Conduct research and evaluate AI security solutions to recommend the most effective options
  • Technical Solutions Development: Create technical solutions and tools to mitigate vulnerabilities and automate security-related tasks
  • Identify Security Requirements: Determine security requirements for AI systems in various stages of development and deployment.
  • Design and Implementation: Design, implement, and support comprehensive security measures tailored for AI systems.
  • Policy Development: Develop and enforce robust security policies, procedures, and standards specific to AI systems.
  • Incident Response Planning: Work with the Security Operations Center to incorporate AI-specific content to include in its security incident response procedures.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure AI systems comply with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Reporting: Write detailed reports with findings and actionable recommendations.
  • Consultation and Collaboration: Provide expert consulting to the CISO, Engineering, and IT teams on securing AI systems.
  • Supplier Engagement: Liaise with suppliers to ensure security standards are met during engagements.
  • Risk Management: Recommend enhancements to existing risk management and security frameworks.

  EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  Skills:

  • Product Evaluations: Experience in conducting product evaluations and pilot tests.
  • AI Security Systems Design: Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing AI security systems in accordance with policies and standards.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and cloud security (AWS, Azure).
  • Adversarial Machine Learning: Understanding of adversarial machine learning techniques and defences.
  • Next-Generation AI security Controls: Understanding of Bias-Rating AI Systems and Narrative Risk Intelligence Systems.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of AI/ML algorithms, cybersecurity principles, threat modelling, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing.
  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++; familiarity with AI tools (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Security Domains: Knowledge in areas such as Identity and Access Management (IAM), web security (WAFs, API gateways), endpoint protection, database security, and network security.
  • Problem Solving and Communication: Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
  • Global Collaboration: Ability to interface effectively with global teams and multitask efficiently.
  • Compliance Frameworks: Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST CSF.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work across multiple functions and territories

  Experience & Education

  • Experience Requirement:10 years of related experience including and 5 years developing security Solutions and 3 years Security engineering
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, AI, or a related field.
  • Certifications: Security certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, OSCP, or equivalent.
  • Professional Experience: Substantial progressive experience in Information Technology, including directly in Information Security.
