      POSITION SUMMARY:

      Responsible for the safe and efficient operation and overall security of the runway, taxiway, Air Operations area and related areas at Orlando International Airport. Monitor all activities on the AOA and airside terminal complexes and enforce best safety practices. Confirm compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations, Code of Federal Regulations and Greater Orlando Aviation Authority policies and procedures. Perform daily inspections of all runways, taxiways, ramps and associated safety areas and perimeter fences. Respond to all aircraft/emergency situations on AOA and perimeter areas. Perform wildlife management functions on all airport properties. Teach AOA Driver and Movement Area Driver training classes. Perform other duties as assigned.

      MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

      • Bachelor degree in Aviation/Airport Management, Business, Public Administration or related field and two (2) years aviation experience in an area specifically related to airfield operations, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
      • Must have strong familiarity with airline/airport ground and flight operations, and Movement Area terminology and procedures.
      • Working knowledge of Advisory Circular Series 150, Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) Parts 139, 77 and CFR Parts 1540 and 1542.
      • Working knowledge of Microsoft office to include Word, PowerPoint and Outlook,
      • Strong multi-tasking and communication skills and the ability to use a two-way radio including speaking clearly in English required.
      • Must be able and willing to work rotating shifts, holidays and weekends.
      • Valid Florida driver’s license required.
