- Location: The new Airport Authority Administration building, located on the San Diego International Airport campus and near the waterfront, providing stunning views of our runway, San Diego Bay, the Pacific Ocean, and the city skyline.
- Salary: The hiring salary for the Airport Traffic Officer Supervisor is starting at $92,469. The full pay range for Airport Traffic Officer Supervisor is $79,010 to $126,477.

- Provides day-to-day leadership and works with staff to ensure a high-performing and a customer service-oriented work environment. Plans, facilitates, and oversees the development, improvement, and implementation of processes and procedures.
- Oversees the selection and training of Airport Traffic Officers and Lead Airport Traffic Officers. Establishes work priorities and routines; assigns work assignments for terminal curbside, Lost & Found, and plans compliance inspections of for-hire and commercial vehicles.
- Plans and evaluates the performance of assigned staff; establishes performance requirements and professional development targets.
- Ensures safe work practices and activities compliance with regulations and policy. Enforces safety precautions are taken and protective gears are used.
- Collaborates with others including law enforcement, internal, and external stakeholders. Responds to emergency situations.
- Regularly operates and drives Authority vehicles to transport Airport Traffic Officers and to conduct terminal parking structure inspections.
- Leadership & Staff Development: Plan and direct the operations of a traffic enforcement function for a large commercial airport.
- Communication and Relationship Building: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those encountered in the course of work.
- Judgement Analysis: Exercise independent judgment and initiative within established guidelines.
- Leverage Technology: Operate a computer, prepare and maintain records; develop and implement appropriate procedures and controls.
- Policy understanding & communication: Understand, interpret, clarify and apply Authority policy and procedures.
- An associate degree.
- Four years of traffic control experience of which two years were in a supervisory experience role in a union environment.
- Equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Experience supervising ground transportation operations preferred.
- Maintain a valid driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the Authority's vehicle insurance policy.
