- Pay: $16.15 - $21.81 / hour
- Works under the supervision of the Manager ensuring the data integrity and accurate disclosure of Mosaic Life Care patient medical information, and is employed by Mosaic Life Care.
- Remains knowledgeable of HIPAA, Federal and State requirements for release of information.
- Remains knowledgeable regarding contractual requirements with payers regarding access to medical records.
- Researches multiple systems to retrieve clinical information from multiple locations, including microfilm, paper and electronic format per compliance guidelines.
- Safeguards and protects the patient's right to privacy by ensuring that only authorized individuals have access to patient's medical information and that all releases of information are in compliance with the requests, authorization, company policy and HIPAA regulations.
- Performs notary duties.
- Answers the phones, makes necessary calls and acts as the receptionist for patients, attorneys, insurance companies, physicians, other healthcare providers and hospital staff. Acts as department communication liaison.
- Performs billing functions as related to release of medical information. Request payment balances receipts for deposit, prepares deposit, reconciles monies received, post payments.
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Basic computer and data entry skills Previous work experience in a Health Information Services department
