- Analyze process reliability and develop and implement process changes to improve measure.
- Troubleshoot and make improvements to control system programming (Siemens PCS7).
- Write and modify batch sheets (Pilot Plant or Production) for assigned processes for new or existing products detailing in adequate detail the processing steps and key parameters to ensure process reliability and capability while following established procedures.
- Submit recommendations for process changes or equipment modifications to improve manufacturing methods.
- Use sound statistical methods to analyze process inputs and outputs
- Review all equipment preparation procedures prior to major maintenance, freeze-thaw, or equipment modifications.
- Provide 24-hour assistance on emergency situations, start-ups, scale-ups, production difficulties, etc. as required.
- Maintain Technical Files for products and processes.
- Maintain all necessary records on assigned processes such as quality, yield, productivity, cost, and reliability.
- Improve product capability (CPK) of assigned products within process areas and investigate and implement corrective action on out-of-control products.
- Develop corrective and preventive action for processing failures in the areas of safety, off-quality, late orders, and complaints.
- Respond to Quality Audits by promptly and effectively completing action requests.
- Understand quality requirements and see that requirements are met in assigned areas.
- Generate cost improvement projects within assigned process areas and elsewhere as feasible and report progress periodically.
- Prepare a training schedule and proper guidance for management trainees and help in coordinating the training, so that trainees may develop into effective Process Engineers.
- Responsible for process safety and environmental compliance/implementation projects.
- Ensure process PSM requirements are met.
- Actively participate in plant safety program/process.
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering.
- 1 year of experience in relevant or similar field and setting.
- Ability to communicate and interact with multiple levels within an organization as well as outside vendors.
- This position requires candidates to be eligible to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship for a work visa (e.g., H-1B, TN, etc.).
- 3+ years of progressive experience in chemical manufacturing or chemical engineering in a process and/or project focused role.
- Experience with Focused Improvement (DEMAIC, Six Sigma).
- Experience in control systems (Siemens PCS7, Delta V).
- Experience with both batch and continuous processes.
- Experience with PSM covering chemical processes.
- Experience with Capital project and control system startups.

POSITION TITLE
Process Improvement Engineer Professional
POSITION OVERVIEW
This role can be classified as Entry, Advanced, or Senior Position based on the candidate’s education and experience. A Process Improvement Engineer Professional is responsible for directing and controlling several distinct chemical processes in accordance with defined policies and procedures which the candidate may develop. The candidate must have a thorough knowledge of the chemistry and equipment associated with each process and can suggest and implement equipment and process changes. The professional is responsible for equipment design/changes, procedural safety, quality, cost, waste reduction, process reliability, and process training. The professional may also manage and train a new associate in the above areas.
The work schedule for this role is Monday – Friday, 1 st shift.
