      Job Title: AES Supervisor (Alternate Educational Setting)

      Job Brief:

      • To assist students in maintaining academic performance while assigned to the AES/In-School Suspension room.

      Location: Middle Schools

      Qualifications:

      • High School diploma or GED.
      • Good communicator.
      • Enjoys helping and working with students and educators.
      • All USD 383 employees must pass a background check.

      Salary:

      • $16.00 - $19.50/hr.
      • Placement within this range is based on relevant qualifications, including prior experience, education, and applicable certifications (e.g., bachelor's degree, advanced certification, bilingual proficiency, etc.).

      Hours Per Day:

      • 7:10 - 3:10 (8 hours)

      Terms of Employment:

      • Positions available during the regular school year.
      • New employees go through a 45-day introductory period as part of onboarding after which benefits will begin, and leave can be used.

      Reports To:

      • Building Principal.
      • Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the Board of Education’s policy on evaluation of classified personnel.

      Job Duties:

      • Meets, supervises, and tutors assigned students in the designated AES/In-school Suspension Room.
      • Develops and maintains an environment conducive to individualized learning based on the theory that AES/In-School Suspension deters inappropriate behavior while being a less drastic disciplinary action than removal from school.
      • Informs students concerning acceptable behavior guidelines.
      • Works closely with building administrators to correct deviating behavior by students.
      • Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
      • Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
      • Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Board Policy.
      • Works cooperatively with other members of the staff in securing lesson plans for each day of the students’ assignment.
      • Establishes and maintains cooperative relations with others.
      • Provide a secure area in and around the AES/ISS room.
      • Supervision as student arrive and dismiss school daily.
      • Performs such other duties as may be assigned.
