      Job SummaryFlagship Culinary Services is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to run a mid-size, employee caf-- for our client. Our cafes are fast-paced, welcoming, and prioritize collaboration and learning. No two days are the same, and our Sous Chefs enjoy a work/life balance with a set schedule, weekends off, and on-the-job training for career advancement in the culinary field.Job DescriptionBenefits/Perks:

      • Vacation and Sick daysKey Responsibilities:
        • Customer Service: Provide courteous, efficient, and prompt service, accommodating all guest and client requests.
        • Leadership: Lead the kitchen team, maintaining high service standards and setting the tone for Jr. Sous, Prep and Line Cooks, Food Receivers, Dishwashers, and Front of House staff.
        • Recipe Development: Develop, test, and implement new recipes and techniques, creating daily menus for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
        • Food Production Oversight: Manage food production according to recipes, inventory, and safety standards, overseeing procurement, storage, and rotation.
        • Staff Management: Supervise kitchen personnel, manage shift schedules, training, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.
        • Communication: Effectively liaise with vendors, management, and staff to ensure smooth operations.
        • Quality Control: Maintain food quality, conduct inventory management, daily line checks, and taste tests.
        • Hiring: Collaborate with staffing recruiters to select and hire suitable kitchen staff.
        • Safety: Ensure cleanliness, safety, and sanitation compliance per OSHA, HACCP, and health department standards.
        • Operations: Set operational goals, conduct reviews, and implement improvements.
        • Administrative Tasks: Allocate time for emails, paperwork, meetings, safety checks, training, and interviews.
        • Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned.Knowledge and Skills:
          • High-volume culinary skills and experience with large batch cooking.
          • Knowledge of food trends, sanitation, cost control, and presentation.
          • Menu planning and recipe development experience.
          • Strong communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
          • Sense of urgency and leadership within a safe work environment.Requirements:
            • Minimum 4 years of culinary experience; previous Sous Chef experience preferred.
            • Culinary school graduate or college degree.
            • Proven success in management roles.
