  The Ambassador serves within our ministry as the first point of contact for clients, showing the love of Christ through building relationships and guiding them to choose the help that will end their homelessness.

  Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Welcomes guests to Atlanta Mission and works to develop relationships
  • Performs guest information sessions and explains types of services offered by Atlanta Mission
  • Meets guest's needs by providing hygiene and clothing items, marta cards, etc.
  • Adheres to all laws, regulations, and codes of conduct/ethics governing the client/staff relationship
  • Reports legal, ethical, and/or safety concerns and ensures client compliance with policies
  • Utilizes appropriate conflict resolution techniques
  • Fosters teamwork environment, working cross-functionally and collaboratively as needed
  • Administers needs assessment for guests using the client management system
  • Tracks client information in the client management system
  • Schedules client appointments and referrals for assessments with the Social Worker
  • Teaches life skills classes and leads recreational opportunities
  • Leads weekly devotionals

  Position Requirements:

  • At least one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where multitasking is constant
  • Proven ability to be a self-starter
  • Well organized, diligent and reliable in following through on commitments

  Physical Requirements:

  • Must have the ability to remain in a stationary position (standing, walking or sitting)
  • Must have the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Must be able to ascend/descend stairs
  • Must have the ability to constantly operate a computer and other office equipment
  • Must be able to communicate accurate information
