- Represent the organization at community and professional events across the Southern California region to promote the PBS SoCal brand in a personable and professional manner
- Utilize word of mouth techniques, flyers and other marketing tools to increase awareness of PBS SoCal events and programming
- Demonstrate and communicate knowledge of local and national PBS programming and the public media system
- Adhere to all PBS SoCal branding guides and exemplify professional behavior when soliciting support for PBS SoCal
- Assist with packing and distributing educational materials
- Assist with maintenance, transportation, inventory and other organization promotional items and/or materials
- Participate in required trainings about PBS SoCal’s programming and the Ambassador role
- Occasionally participate in remote work, including virtual events, data entry and research
- Offer additional support in assisting the education and marketing departments to promote the PBS SoCal brands and achieve our organization’s mission
- Other duties as assigned
- 18 years of age
- Access to reliable transportation and willing to travel across Los Angeles and greater Southern California for events
- Flexible schedule preferred with ability to work weekdays, nights and weekends
- If hired, participate in an employer-sponsored Live Scan and DMV records pull

Job Overview
A PBS SoCal Ambassador will engage with viewers and community participants at various events throughout Southern California, as well as provide support in preparation for education workshops and additional organizational projects. Events will include but are not limited to: screenings, festivals, concerts, and education workshops. It is the Ambassador’s role to assist with the promotion of PBS SoCal programs, events, and content and educate the public on PBS SoCal’s mission and vision.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, it is regularly required to walk, sit, or stand for prolonged periods; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, pull weight; and talk or hear. The position requires the ability to actively support event set-up, tear-down, and management functions, such as carrying and putting up signage, moving tables, pulling carts, and sitting and/or standing to welcome guests. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.
Work Environment
The working conditions are primarily outdoor settings. Position may require some off-site travel to vendors and/or other such locations as necessary.
