      Pharmacy Technician - Ambulatory Care - Full Time

      Nebraska Medicine is now taking applications for a talented individual to join us as an Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Technician in our Heart & Vascular Center.

      The ambulatory care pharmacy technician role is to serve as a pharmacist extender for the ambulatory care pharmacist team. This role will assist with coordinating care and managing patients in the cardiology setting. Strong communication skills and teamwork are essential for this position. One must be dedicated to continuous learning coupled with a passion for healing and serving our patients.

      Shift:

      • Full time and Benefit Eligible position -- 1.0 FTE (80 hours in a pay period)

      • First Shift: Monday – Friday 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM or 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

      • No call; No weekends

      Assist specialty pharmacists in the management of patients receiving specialty medications. Provide adherence management to specialty patients and work as part of the care team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Assist the specialty pharmacist with claims processing, preparation and dispensing of specialty medications. Assist with necessary documentation and reporting requirements to maintain URAC/ACHC Specialty Pharmacy Accreditation and access to a network of limited distribution drugs.

      Minimum Qualifications: Pharmacy Technician - Ambulatory Care

      • Ability to attend and successfully complete 160 hours of on the job training required.

      • High school education or equivalent required.

      • Ability to complete moderate to difficult mathematical calculations using a hand held calculator required.

      • Exceptional communication skills, strong attention to detail and effective problem solving skills required.

      • Licensed Nebraska pharmacy intern or registered as a pharmacy technician with the State of Nebraska Board of Pharmacy required.

      • Pharmacy Technician Certification within twelve months of licensed date required.

      Preferred Qualifications: Pharmacy Technician - Ambulatory Care

      • Pharmacy Technician experience with exposure to Specialty Pharmacy preferred.

      • Work experience which demonstrates analytical ability, judgment, and interpersonal skills in pharmacy or healthcare preferred.

      • Proficiency and experience with third party claims adjudication and claims rejection reconciliation preferred.

      • Proficiency and experience with non-sterile, sterile, and hazardous drug compounding preferred.

      • Pharmacy technician experience at Nebraska Medicine preferred.

      • Associates degree in business, healthcare or related field preferred.

      • Experience and proficiency with computer software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) or comparable program preferred.
