Job Description: Concept/Component development engineer | Exterior Add on parts (Bumpers)

Role:

• Automotive Exterior Concept design engineer/ Component development engineer
• Responsible for independently creating component designs (in CAD), this includes creation of 3D model & 2D models
• Ensure Component design comply with Product requirements (Specifications), this includes Manufacturing feasibility, homologation checks, functional checks, package checks, etc..
• Work with Cross-functional teams & Suppliers to ensure Component maturity as per Project milestones.
• Project management and supplier management to ensure project deliverable as per Project time plans until SOP.

Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Automotive engineering
• 3 -7 years of experience in field of Automotive component design/development of Interior or Exterior trims
• 3+ years of “UG NX’ or other CAD design software experience in early phases of Concept development in OEM, Tier 1 Automotive suppliers.
• Knowledge of Product requirements for Trim parts eg. Bumpers, Grille, Rocker Panel, Spoiler or interior trim parts.
• Able to understand Simulation/ Testing results and optimize components accordingly.
• Experience on working on PLM (Product life cycle management) software s
• Have experienced product development processes like APQP (QFD, DFMEA, and PFMEA)/VDA, DOE, PPAP in Automotive industry.
• Experience of working in Cross functional teams & Suppliers
• Independently managed Component design /development phases.
• Knowledge of Automotive trims engineering, knowledge of Plastic Materials, Plastic manufacturing, Plastic tooling requirements & Automotive trims trends
