Analyst, Retail Asset Management
Sterling Organization is seeking a Private Equity – Asset Management Analyst that will have significant exposure to and be integrally involved in the oversight, management, and operational strategy of Sterling’s retail real estate nationwide portfolio.
Over their first 2 – 4 years, Asset Management Analysts will develop an in-depth understanding of retail real estate assets and work closely with key company personnel in fund management and analytics, property management, accounting, financing, leasing, and development with high-potential employees having the ability to ascend from the analyst program to leadership roles within the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist in the creation and review of quarterly and annual investor reporting
• Assist in the analysis of property-level operations and business plans to identify and implement operational cost saving and revenue maximization strategies across the portfolio
• Create and maintain internal reporting including monthly asset management reports detailing asset-level business plans, leasing, financing, and redevelopment activity
• Contribute to the further development and improvement of existing reporting and data efficiency tools
• Effectively present information and respond to questions from the firm’s Managing Partners, investors, and lenders
• Track and engage in all tenant- and property-related litigation matters with outside counsel
• Track and engage in all property-level real estate tax appeals
• Serve as the point person for the development and execution of all ancillary income opportunities across the portfolio
• Assist in the review of property-level budgets and track the adherence thereto to maximize property NOI and assist in the re-forecast based on actual events
• Gain hands-on experience of managing a nationwide portfolio of retail assets (leasing; property control rights; financials; property fundamentals, etc.)
• Perform ad-hoc reports and special projects as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
• College graduate with strong record of academic achievement and interest in commercial real estate
• Candidate should be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel/Word and have experience with other standard business software (ARGUS knowledge is preferred but not required)
• Candidate should be highly organized, have exceptional analytical capabilities, attention to detail, and written and oral communication skills and should be able to take on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
COMPENSATION: Compensation commensurate with experience. Full benefits including health and dental insurance, 401K and annual performance bonus.
