- Monitor service level agreements (SLAs), metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of cloud operations.
- Provide assistance in analyzing and implementing the FinOps Framework, utilizing understanding of Azure financial tools to optimize cloud consumption and achieve cost savings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement cloud cost optimization solutions that meet business needs and align with industry standards.
- Collaborate with the COA team to support ongoing forecasting, budgeting, long-term planning, and analysis of business cases.
- Work closely with COA teams to implement financial management strategies, meet consumption targets, and effectively manage financial instruments.
- Aid in achieving annual targets for optimizing consumption efficiency and adhering to budget requirements.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting knowledge sharing, cross-training, and continuous learning within the team.
- Collaborate with other IT teams, stakeholders, and vendors to drive alignment, prioritize initiatives, and ensure effective communication.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in cloud technologies, tools, and industry trends, making recommendations for improvements and innovation.
- Identify opportunities to automate and streamline cloud operations processes, enhancing efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. A relevant master's degree is a plus.
- Extensive experience in cloud environments, such as Azure, Google Cloud Platform or AWS.
- Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure and services, including compute, storage, networking, and security.
- Expertise in developing and implementing ETL processes for integrating cost and utilization data.
- Mastery of KQL (Kusto Query Language), SQL, Python, and R for data transformation and analysis.
- Experience utilizing ADX (Azure Data Explorer) for data analysis and normalization.
- Strong working knowledge of Power BI to create dynamic reports and dashboards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data visualization techniques.
- Solid understanding of ITIL, DevOps, and agile methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
What you’ll do
Reporting to the Manager, Cloud FinOps. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cloud Cost Optimization Analyst to oversee and optimize our organization's cloud cost optimization process. A Cloud Cost Optimization Analyst is responsible for analyzing cloud usage and expenses to identify opportunities for cost optimization. You develop guidelines and standards for optimizing costs and monitor financial tracking of cloud usage. By providing actionable insights and recommendations, you help the organization streamline their cloud spending and ensure that resources are used efficiently. Your role is to continuously analyze and communicate cost-related information to stakeholders, driving cost-saving initiatives and maximizing the value of cloud investments. Your expertise in cloud technologies and strong analyst abilities will be crucial in driving operational excellence and supporting the Canadian Tire's growth in the cloud environment.
