Supports the end-to-end data operations of Ontario Health data collection and disclosure for external and internal partners.
Responsible for the documentation management including Operational Manual, Data Specifications , Tracking logs.
Develops, improves and uses existing processes to ensure timely delivery of all data collections, distribution and transfers.
- Manage selective applications, provide trainings, and troubleshooting.
Analyze data to identify trends and patterns that can be used to make business decisions
Conducts specific ad hoc requests for analysis (e.g., annual updates to analysis/indicators) and completes exploration of data for indicator development.
Prepares analysis summaries and assists with the preparation of documents and presentation materials
Execute appropriate data analysis to support strategic business needs and decision making
In coordination with the Manager, develops the tools, templates and processes required to execute the research and analysis activities
Ensures accuracy and completeness of reported data, figures, and tables
Maintains and develops website content and documentation
Ensures processes, analyses and reporting products adhere to Ontario Health’s data protection and privacy procedures
Develops education and training tools about appropriate access and use of PHI
Support operationalization of new processes, recommend system, and process adjustments
Manages various client requests/inquiries channels for collections, transfers, distribution
Supporting knowledge transfer of products, processes and methods to other Ontario Health program areas and external partners where required
Develops relationships with colleagues within team and across the organization to understand business/operations activities, share information and provide assistance in understanding business needs.
Manages relationships with stakeholders to ensure assigned project deliverables are clarified, understood and effectively managed
Builds relationships with industry colleagues to remain current on industry best practices and trends
Championing Ontario Health’s organizational values of inclusion, diversity and anti-racism and promoting these within the team
Provides project support, assisting with data and analysis quality assurance process, and fact checking activities
Assisting in the development of project plans, sequencing activities and inter-dependencies; proactively identifying, managing and escalating issues and risks as needed
Assisting the Manager in developing project plans
Undergraduate Degree in Public Administration, Health Administration, Business Management or equivalent education/experience
Data management related education or experience is an asset
Experience collecting and documenting requirements for a wide range of initiatives and the ability to apply this experience to a wide range of situations
Knowledge of the relevant data quality processes, frameworks and methodologies
Knowledge of data governance principles, data management, data models, processes and application
Knowledge of data manipulation and data management to deliver on objectives or execute activities
Knowledge and Experience with national and provincial healthcare administrative and clinical datasets, including CIHI Discharge Abstract Database and National Ambulatory Care Reporting System
Strong MS Excel a must have. Including ability to manipulate data with spreadsheet
Experience with MS Office (i.e. Word Document, Power Point etc.)
Experience working with relational databases, including writing SQL queries is considered an asset but not required
Strong stakeholder engagement, project management, and organizational skills Familiarity with information issues in the healthcare environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage and solicit support from a wide range of external and internal stakeholders in the delivery of the program activities
Requires an ability to influence decisions through well-articulated recommendations to key decision makers
Demonstrated superior written communication skills including the ability to prepare executive correspondence.
An understanding of Ontario's health care environment, experience with cancer is an asset

Here is what you will be doing:
The Data Services team builds and shares the definitive source of high quality data to support Ontario Health mandate. The Data Quality and Operations Management (DQOM) team forms the largest component of Data Services and ensures data is fit for use, well defined, visible and accessible across organization. The DQOM team is responsible for the management and sustainability of Data Assets and associated deliverables. The Analyst is responsible for providing support on data collection, disclosure and data transfer activities to Ontario Health internal and external stakeholders. Working in collaboration with the business, the Analyst will be primary point of contact with external data providers, ensuring the receipt of data in a secure manner as per agreed to schedule. The Analyst will work with internal and external clients to help troubleshoot issues and challenges with the data as well as support process documentation and redesign to ensure the team is efficient and effective. This position is process-based but requires good understanding of the data management concepts.
