      This position will be a hybrid work arrangement, which translates to 3 days per week in the Boston office.

      HarbourVest Partners is currently seeking candidates for our 2-year analyst program in its Direct Investment Group in Boston, MA beginning in summer 2024. This program has been crafted to offer an unmatched breadth of experience that will jumpstart your career and train you to be a sophisticated investor. All incoming analysts will undergo extensive training as well as robust mentorship and coaching with two senior team members on our Direct Investment team. Our analyst program provides a similar depth of training as an investment banking program, while enabling our analysts to impact long-term investment decisions directly out of their undergraduate programs. For analysts who join the program and are strong performers there will be an opportunity for promotion to Associate.

      • Able to communicate professionally and confidentially with colleagues of all levels and across multiple teams

      What you will do:

      • Act as an industry generalist to evaluate companies across a broad range of industries, including but not limited to, Consumer and Retail, Healthcare, Financial Institutions, Industrials, Technology, and Business Services
      • Participate in meetings with companies who are raising capital and fund managers (Venture Capital, Growth Equity and Private Equity firms) active in the market to seek out companies with strong business models
      • Perform detailed due diligence – meeting with management, studying industry trends, reviewing financial results, and conducting customer reference calls
      • Construct extensive financial models to illustrate the potential returns of an investment and make critical contributions to the valuation and structuring decisions
      • And other responsibilities as required

      What you bring:

      • A strong academic background with coursework in finance, business, or accounting
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

      Education Preferred

      • Bachelor of Arts (B.A) or equivalent experience
      • Bachelor of Science (B.S) or equivalent experience

      Experience

      • 0-2 Years of internship experience in Finance capacity preferred
