      The Role

      As an Analyst in the Equity Research team you will be responsible for contributing to the generation of economic, industry, and company research and supporting analysis on listed Australian equities as a service to institutional and retail investors. You will be involved in researching macroeconomics and stocks, will have exposure to equities, and will also gain significant knowledge of the Australian stock market.


      Key Responsibilities:

      • Assist in producing research and analysis on a portfolio of companies as well as macroeconomic and industry outlooks

      • Interpretation of news/market announcements/regulatory filings as well as a variety of economic and statistical /specialised data sets

      • Creation of financial models to support reports and recommendations

      • Analysis of key industry and company-specific revenue/earnings drivers

      • Assisting with client and internal requests in regard to listed companies and related industries

      • Management of databases including the use of internal and third-party data sources

      About You
      You will possess a creative mind and use your initiative to ‘think outside the square’. You are a critical thinker who has the confidence to question the status quo and enjoy working pro-actively within a dynamic, high-pressured environment. You have the ability to build strong relationships across the research and sales team as well as with clients.

      In addition, you have:

      • Understanding of the financial services sector and market terminology

      • Strong Excel and financial modelling skills including an understanding of corporate accounting

      • Understanding of corporate finance valuation methodologies

      • A high degree of attention to detail and well-developed report writing skills

      • Ability to express complex ideas clearly and succinctly

      • A relevant tertiary qualification in Actuarial, Finance, Accounting or Engineering disciplines

      • Experience in financial services including equity research, actuarial or corporate finance

      • Postgraduate qualifications such as FIAA, CA or CFA will be highly regarded
