- Bachelor or higher degree in Accounting, Financial Engineering, Actuarial, Behavioural Finance, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering/IT or a related field
- Demonstrate knowledge of accounting, finance, capital and/or money markets
- Strong programming skills, including the capability to design and develop sophisticated financial models and working with large data sets.
- Sound knowledge and experience of two or three programming languages include but not limited to C#, R, Python, MATLAB, SAS, SQL, JavaScript, PHP and VBA.

About the team - Finance Analytics and Quantification
Sitting under Deloitte’s Treasury and Capital Markets team, our team help businesses and financial institutions navigate complex finance related matters using data and algorithms.
We have an exciting opportunity for a finance talent with 1-4 years’ experience to join our team in Sydney or Melbourne. In this role, we will leverage your knowledge and technical skills to understand client needs, design and develop models/tools and provide better solutions to the client.
Enough about us, let’s talk about you.
You are an intellectually curious professional with experience in using modern financial modelling techniques, such as stochastic modelling techniques, data analytics, to solve complex finance related challenges. Any experience in financial services may be useful but isn’t essential. Your strong technical skills with solution design and development coupled with your investigative techniques, analytical and problem-solving mindset and holistic view will set you up for success in this role. The team focuses on complex quantitative credit risk model developments, validations, and monitoring for a variety of financial institutions (primarily banks and non-bank lenders). In addition, the team also focuses on upcoming regulatory and accounting changes and assisting clients on implementing or understanding the impacts of these changes on their credit risk models.
