      UVU’s Institutional Advancement Division (fundraising area of the university) is in search of a quick learning, dedicated, and reliable individual to take on the role of Data Hygiene Analyst. The Data & Analysis team is a creative and dynamic place to grow, develop, and perform. We provide the fundraising division and university partners with data, analysis, technology, systems support, and reporting to advance fundraising for the university.

      Analyst I – Data Hygiene will play a vital role in maintaining and improving the data hygiene of Institutional Advancement’s (IA) donor/fundraising data. The individual in this role will perform root cause analysis and complex queries and audits to discover data issues to improve data integrity and reportable data. Documents processes and procedures to improve data quality and system use for the data team and IA stakeholders. Conducts assigned trainings for systems, data hygiene, and processes or procedures. This position requires a strategic mindset, technical proficiency, and passion for data hygiene and integrity.

      **For staff positions, we are unable to provide sponsorship. Applicants selected for employment must be authorized to work in the U.S and be willing to relocate and live in the state of Utah.
      • Analyzes data and systems to efficiently manage data integrity, improve data hygiene, and improve system usage by IA stakeholders. Use complex queries and create visualizations to find and evaluate data hygiene issues, perform root cause, and recommend solutions. Conduct regular data audits and implement strategies to enhance data hygiene and accuracy.
      • Conduct regular and routine data-hygiene processes as well as assigned data hygiene projects.
      • Create, test, and document best practices, processes, and procedures to improve data hygiene and data integrity for the data team and the IA division.
      • Develops and conducts assigned trainings for systems, data hygiene, and processes or procedures to ensure optimal use of IA data.
      • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

      Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate degree in a related field plus two years of related experience OR a combination of relevant experience and education totaling four years.

      Preferred Qualifications:
      Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor degree in a related field plus four years of related experience.Knowledge
      • Knowledge of data hygiene best practices and experience implementing data quality improvement strategies.
      • Knowledge of databases & file structure.
      • Knowledge of dashboards, business intelligence, databases, and data manipulation.
      Skills
      • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
      • Proficiency in data analysis, query, and SQL languages.
      • Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite with an emphasis in Excel.
      • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
      • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
      Abilities
      • Technical proficiency in database systems and data analysis.
      • Attention to detail and the ability to convey complex concepts in a clear, concise, and easily understood manner.
