Job Description
- Req#: RC71701
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and work with field staff to research and resolve outstanding items.
- Prepare monthly detailed analysis of salary expenses for staff working on Federally- funded or restricted international programs and record related journal entries.
- Review monthly financial activity entered into QuickBooks by the international field delegation offices and prepare journal entries to record activity into Oracle.
- Review and process journal entries submitted by International Services Finance.
- Maintain record of all international bank accounts and signatories and has responsibility for filing the annual FBAR (Foreign Bank Account Report) for the organization.
- Provide support for both the consolidated financial audit and Single Audit as requested.
- Ensure SOPs are current and draft new procedures as needed.
- Actively participate in cross-functional team meetings
- Assist with projects as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration or related field
- Minimum of five years of accounting experience, including general ledger accounting and financial statement preparation or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Experience with Oracle is preferred.
- Have a high level of attention to detail and possess excellent analytical and communication skills
- Must be able to meet all established deadlines
- Be organized, agile and able to prioritize tasks when given multiple demands
- Be self motivated, and demonstrate initiative, independence, and efficiency in accomplishing tasks
- Possess ability to interact and communicate effectively with staff at all levels of the organization.

The American Red Cross is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to work within the General Accounting Department of the Shared Services Center. The American Red Cross Shared Services Center is a centralized processing center for key accounting and purchasing functions located in Charlotte, NC. The General Accounting department supports accounting for all American Red Cross business units from a single computer platform, Oracle Financials. The Senior Financial Analyst role will be heavily focused on accounting and reconciliations of International Services business unit activity. Some of these duties may be routine in nature yet do require significant analytical work.

*Combination of candidate’s education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description’s minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).
PAY INFORMATION: The annual salary range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000. We do not offer an annual bonus for this role. Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role. **We will review specific salary information at the time of phone screening based upon your location & experience.**Scope: Individual contributor that works under limited supervision. Apply subject matter knowledge. Capacity to understand specific needs or requirements to apply skills/knowledge.
