      What is the opportunity?

      RBC’s Institutional Client Credit Management Team is looking for an Analyst to deliver analysis, insights and recommendations on credit risk profiles that are meaningful and timely with respect to bank and sovereign counterparties. In addition the Analyst will support business units to fulfil specific targets and objectives through the application of disciplined risk management processes.

      What will you do?

      • Risk identification and assessment (60%):

        • Collaborate with Group Risk Management (GRM) to maintain credit quality and the right balance of risk and reward within the portfolio including preparation of: Risk assessment reviews (RAFs), supporting documentation and forward looking assessments

        • Participate in continuous monitoring of counterparty and portfolio risks and make recommendations to ensure consistent application of policies and guidelines, operational risks/controls deficiencies are identified and reported and appropriate sizing of trading and non-trading limits and tenor

      • Transaction support (30%):

        • Participate in the First line of Defense by assisting with maintenance of appropriate client risk levels within assigned portfolio

        • Partner with business units including ICCM - Transaction Management to complete regulatory reviews and help ensure relationship remains within RBC policy and risk appetite

      • Portfolio Management (10%):

        • Interact with business units to provide information on assigned names within the portfolio including data and analysis on credit limits and utilization

        • Contribute to the production of portfolio statistics and management information reports in a timely and accurate manner. This includes ad hoc and regularly scheduled quarterly reporting, country exposure updates, peer reviews, stress testing etc.

      What do you need to succeed?

      Must-have:

      • A completed Undergraduate Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related quantitative field

      • At least 1 year of experience working within the Financial Services sector, preferably in risk management

      • Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills

      • Solid understanding of inter-relationships between global and local economic trends and financial institution risk profiles

      • Ability to interpret, explain and communicate opinions and recommendations using strong verbal and written presentations

      • Ability to establish priorities and manage tasks with accompanying attention to detail

      • Proactive and self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills

      • Advanced data and computer management skills including proficiency with MS Office Suite

      • Strong communication and inter-personal skills

      Nice-to-have:

      • Work experience in a Back Office or Middle Office is considered an asset

      • Post graduate degree (MBA, MA) in Finance or Economics

      • Successfully acquired a FRM, CFA or CPA designation
