      Analyst, M&A and Corporate Advisory

JLL Securities, Real Estate Investment Banking

JLL Securities, an affiliate of Jones Lang LaSalle (“JLL”), is seeking an analyst for its leading real estate M&A investment banking practice in New York City. The team focuses on a breadth of strategic transactions including mergers & acquisitions (take-privates, mergers of equals, PIPEs), divestitures, restructurings, Special Committee advisory and fairness opinions, entity-level and joint venture capital raising and other investment banking deals. The team’s client base includes public/non-traded/private REITs, real estate operating companies and developers, open- and closed-end real estate funds, real estate asset/investment managers and other operating companies across all CRE sectors in the US. JLL’s M&A investment banking team has closed over $40 billion in transactions since its inception in 2012 (as part of a predecessor firm), ranking as a top 10 sell-side investment banking platform by volume over the same time.

This opportunity represents a rare chance to gain experience in all stages of real estate investment banking – building skills in real estate and corporate finance modeling, marketing and presentation, deal execution, market study and research, due diligence, and other facets of M&A investment banking – alongside a team of investment banking professionals and JLL’s broader real estate platform.

      Main Responsibilities

      • Undertaking complex valuation analyses and financial modeling exercises
      • Assisting in the preparation of memoranda, presentation materials, and marketing materials
      • Operating, financial and accounting due diligence
      • Preparing and participating in client presentations
      • Managing multiple aspects of day-to-day transaction execution
      • Reviewing and analyzing public company filings, legal documents, internal & third party data / research and other materials as part of the transaction process
      • Interacting with clients, investors and broader JLL team members

      Preferred Experience

      • 1-3 years of investment banking or other finance experience (real estate, M&A, capital markets experience preferred)
      • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
      • Strong corporate finance background
      • Ability to be an independent worker with a team player attitude
      • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to interface with top level executives and clients
      • Self-motivated, team-oriented, and capable of handling several tasks simultaneously
