      Role Summary/Purpose:

      The Metadata Analyst is located in the India Analytics Hub (IAH) as part of Synchrony’s enterprise Data Office and will be responsible for the analysis and support of Data Sourcing technical services/solutions within the Synchrony Financial Chief Data Office. This individual will be responsible for collaborating, executing activities and processes involving the analysis, monitoring, measuring, planning, testing, validation of data issues involving Information and Data Management capabilities (e.g., data definitions, data lineage, data sharing and reference and master data) with a focus on supporting Ab Initio Metadata Hub environment.

      This position is remote, where you have the option to work from home. On occasion we may request for you to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and culture events.       Essential Responsibilities:

      • Monitor data sourcing workflows and processes that capture metadata in Synchrony’s Technical and Business Metadata Catalogs

      • Analyze, monitor, measure, plan, test and validate Data Sourcing processing issues

      • Conduct root cause analysis, propose issue resolution and implement the agreed upon resolution

      • Document overall trends in data issues and propose informed solutions to reduce errors, increase efficiency through automation, and track emerging issues

      • Operate technical processes for tracking, gathering and improving data traceability and data lineage by partnering with the Data Architecture and Data Usage technical teams

      • Provide data management support throughout its lifecycle starting with monitoring how data is defined, cataloged, evaluated, and used through to when it is disposed

      • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

      • Collaborate with business teams to establish clear, concise definitions that accurately reflect the business purpose and resonate with the various consumers

      • Establish and manage methods to share the business glossary material and publicize updates

      • Work with business analysts to identify Critical Data Elements (CDE) and capture the various metadata relating to them, ensuring that metadata becomes a regular deliverable of change initiatives

      • Oversee the maintenance of metadata artefacts, reporting and escalating wherever suitable, resolving issues, gaps and inconsistencies

      Qualifications/Requirements:

      • Bachelor's degree with 1 to 3 years of hands-on Analytics experience or in lieu of a degree, 3 to 5 years of hands-on Analytics experience.

      • Skilled in Ab Initio Integrations, Metadata hub development and support including importers, extractors, extensions, technical lineage, Query It, AI graph development, Ab Initio Control center and Express It

      • Hands-on knowledge of SQL

      • Excellent Communication skills

      • Has worked on Data Governance Activities and Data Dictionaries

      • Good Technical & Business Metadata knowledge

      • Is aware of Business and Technical Metadata

      • Has Data management experience

      • Timings – 2 PM to 11 PM IST

      Desired Characteristics:

      • Familiarity either using or creating dashboards including Tableau, SAS VA

      • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills with ability to manage multiple priorities

      • Demonstrated success in managing multiple deliverables concurrently often within aggressive timeframes; ability to cope under time pressure.

      • Outstanding written and verbal skills.
