      Our Business Banking (BB) business serves over 10,000 clients in the medium to large business segment across Australia, with complex financial needs and turnover between $10m to $2.5bn. We are committed to understanding our clients, and delivering insights and creative solutions, to drive sustainable business growth.

      The Client Acquisition team leads opportunities for new mid-market customers in diversified industries with both private and small/medium public companies. We are focused on originating and on-boarding new-to-bank customers with lending requirements usually ranging from $5m - $250m, in addition to leading transactions where clients are undertaking M&A or other material corporate activity. Once a transaction is completed and the client is on boarded, the ongoing management of the client is transferred to the Relationship Team so the Client Acquisition team can focus on the next transaction.

      Your impact

      As a key member of the Client Acquisition team, you will support the team with research, analysis and develop a comprehensive database of client/industry specific information, ideas and solutions. You will undertake financial modelling and analysis and assess the risks/opportunities on new lending, as well as the risks associated with increases in client credit.

      Do work that matters

      As an experienced Analyst or Senior Associate you will be responsible for some of the more complex transactions in the team. You will coach and train junior Analysts on complex deals and contribute to their development in the team. This is an outstanding opportunity to develop your leadership skills whilst continuing to gain exposure to sophisticated Commercial Banking clients/deals. Your role will also involve;

      • Financial modelling and analysis relating to Business and/or Commercial Banking clients
      • Prepare credit submissions for new facilities, and coordination of deal execution through documentation and funding
      • Prepare various reporting requirements such as pipeline leads, calls, contacts and revenues versus plan
      • Performance monitoring and annual reviews for existing clients, and reporting of client financial and operational performance to Risk Management
      • Working closely with Product Specialists to meet client requirement

      What are we looking for?

      • Solid prior experience in a similar role (as an Analyst, Assistant Manager, Associate, Senior Associate or Credit Manager) writing credit submissions, undertaking covenant monitoring and/or annual reviews within Business/Commercial Banking. Alternatively, you may have prior experience within the accounting industry working within corporate finance.
      • Prior exposure to a diversified portfolio of customers, cash flow lending and/or debt levels of at least $10m
      • Experience dealing with complex lending structures and/or complex organisational structures (highly desirable)
      • Strong financial analysis skills and the ability to interpret balance sheets, P&L, structuring of loans, securities and financial products.
      • Experience documenting facilities via external lawyers
      • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and key stakeholders e.g. credit department, Group Lending Services etc.
      • A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance and/or Commerce
