Prepare the majority of the credit approval document - evaluate borrowers and credit facilities by performing financial statement analysis, reviewing spreads, calculating adherence to compliance statements & loan covenants, and assessing the overall risk within the client’s business, industry, customer base and geography
Demonstrate ownership of the assigned portfolio of existing customers with minimal guidance
Support market underwriters on their portfolios by independently completing annual reviews, renewals and various loan modifications, while ensuring compliance with credit policies and procedures
Prepare financial models where needed; understand model mechanics and perform research and analysis of industry/market data
Work with internal partners to coordinate closing process requirements
Independently handle basic credit documents and shadow market underwriters on reviewing and negotiating complex legal documentation
Ensure portfolio data is accurate, timely, and complete to ensure strong quality and reporting capabilities
Prepare for Portfolio Reviews and present account updates to senior leadership during such reviews.
Provide meaningful contributions to internal meetings, including deal review, pipeline and SCO meetings
Build relationships across functions and businesses to foster collaboration between partner groups
Mentor and train rotational analysts and new hires
Participate in internal initiatives to ensure the business is well-managed and operates efficiently
Bachelor’s Degree or Military Experience
At least 2 years of experience in credit underwriting or at least 2 years of experience in portfolio management or at least 2 years of experience in asset management
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or other relevant fields
Completed coursework or training in credit risk management

Our Underwriters and Portfolio Managers balance supporting the Commercial’s Bank’s growth and ensuring we have a scalable, well-managed business. This role supports the Regional Commercial Bank.

The Regional Commercial Bank is a business line that services clients within our traditional retail branch network, which includes VA, MD, DC, NYC, LI, NJ, TX and LA. The RCB portfolio consists of 550+ clients and over $7Billion in credit exposure.
As an Analyst, Underwriter & Portfolio Manager, you have advanced beyond the fundamentals of credit risk management and are expected to perform most responsibilities with minimal oversight. In addition to identifying risks and mitigants, you begin to identify and escalate trends or anomalies on individual deals or within the portfolio.
