University degree or diploma in a related field
A professional accounting designation (CPA) or equivalent
2-3 years accounting experience
Experience in investment/securities accounting
Excellent interpersonal abilities and organizational skills, and attention to detail
The ability to proactively look for ways to increase efficiencies in how work is performed
Advanced level Excel skills and current experience with an industry standard accounting platform
Knowledge of IFRS
Completion of the Canadian Securities Course
Experience with SimCorp Dimension
Experience with data analytics and visualization tools
Complete net asset valuations and investment reconciliations
Identify and resolve investment accounting issues
Analyze investment trends and structures
Collaborate on financial statements, tax filings, and regulatory information
Support asset class valuation
Act as a subject matter expert for solutions development and testing
Maintain knowledge of clients, asset classes, and finance concepts
Continuously improve financial solutions and processes
Transform financial information into valuable insights
Ensure compliance with audits and risk management best practices
Analyst – CAD $74,000 to $85,000
Senior Analyst – CAD $84,000 to $100,000

THE OPPORTUNITY
Step into the world of investment accounting at BCI, where you'll handle pooled funds and segregated investments for our clients. You will use your expertise to analyze and evaluate our clients, investments, structures, and processes to maintain accuracy and completeness of our financial records.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
As an Analyst / Senior Analyst, you will work under the guidance of the Manager, Investment Accounting, and be a part of the Finance department within BCI Operations. This department is responsible for investment and corporate accounting, valuations, financial statements, and client reporting. It also oversees budgeting, tax structuring, compliance, client engagement, procurement, and performance analytics. You will contribute to the Investment Accounting branch, which manages accounting activities for both liquid asset classes, such as Fixed Income and Public Equities, and illiquid asset classes, including Global Partnership Fund, Infrastructure & Renewable Resources, Private Credit Fund, Private Equity, Real Estate, and Real Estate Debt.

SALARY RANGE

Depending on the skill level and relevant experience the successful candidate will be hired at one of the following levels with the annualized base salary range for this Victoria-based role.
The base salary offered to the successful candidate will consider a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill set, level of experience applicable to the role they are being offered and consideration to internal equity.

We aim for actual pay to be around the median of the market for target or expected levels of performance, and around the upper quartile of the market for excellent performance.
