      Reports to: VP Process Analyzers and Monitoring Business

      Location: Waukesha, WI

      In-Situ Process - ChemScan, Inc. located in Waukesha WI, is a leader in the on-line analysis of water chemistry for the past 20 years. We are looking for an Applied Analytical Chemist to lead our Waukesha facility laboratory activities.

      GENERAL PURPOSE: This position will support new business opportunities and contribute to the new product and application development process by ensuring the documentation and analysis are ready for sale and support.

      ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: As a member of the water analyzer development team, contribute to the new product and application development process.

      • Lead photometric and UV-VIS reagent method development for existing and future products.
      • Organize and support the rapidly growing reagent and annual consumables business.
      • Manage documentation process to ensure analysis methods/products are ready for sale and support.
      • Support new business opportunities by analyzing field sample and provide feedback to Management and Regional Sales Managers.
      • Support Operations QC/QA with identification and implementation of testing protocols.
      • Work with Customer Service and Support Group with troubleshooting issues and field testing.
      • Perform or assist with field testing of developed products.
      • Assist in defining features and specification of next generation products.
      • Assist Service and Support Group with review current maintenance documents and procedures, implement improvements and service bulletins.
      • Meet with Management on a regular basis to communicate activities and discuss process improvements.

      OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Responsible for ChemScan Laboratory – Safety, Organization and Cleanliness
      • Support the Facility Chemical Safety Program
      • Support Domestic and International Shipping Program
      • Participate in internal and external training and workshops.
      • Actively pursue on-going personal development of relevant knowledge and skills

      JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

      EDUCATION OR FORMAL TRAINING:

      BS, MS or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Water Chemistry or related.

      EXPERIENCE:

      Five (5) years related experience in laboratory, chemical production and/or field analysis equipment.

      PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

      • Utilized and developed photometric/spectrometric based inorganic analysis methods.
      • Preferred, Industrial analytical instrumentation experience.
      • Preferred, Industrial conventional instrumentation experience.

      WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

      While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands and fingers to work with objects, tools, or controls; and use office equipment including computers, telephones, and/or copiers/scanners. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

      Compensation: Compensation will be commensurate with the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as alignment with market data and internal comps.

      Salary Range: $70,000-$95,000 per year

      Additional Compensation: Participation in a Company sponsored variable compensation plan.
