      What you’ll do

      In this role, you will provide SAS programming, data management, data validation, and data quality consulting to internal and external customers for SAS EVAAS (Education Visualization And Analytics Solution) products and reporting. SAS EVAAS uses longitudinal student, assessment, and accountability data systems to provide value-added and other analyses to districts, schools, and educators.       As an Analytical Consultant, you will:

      • Serve as data lead and owner for data services associated with assigned client and project responsibilities
      • Lead customer sessions for requirements gathering and data discovery
      • Translate customer needs into data requirements and business rules to document and follow when processing data
      • Support and leads efforts of data acquisition, validation, transformation, cleaning, preparation, standardization, and management from incoming data sources to facilitate EVAAS analysis and reporting
      • Identify data anomalies and works to understand implications on broader EVAAS deliverables
      • Manage multiple longitudinal databases consisting of millions of records
      • Collaborate and provides knowledge transfer in relevant expertise to ETL team members as well as members of other EVAAS functional teams
      • Contribute to development efforts to improve ETL-specific, as well as, EVAAS-wide processes
      • Manage multiple, concurrent workstreams, and client responsibilities amid strict deadlines with a sense of urgency and conscientiousness
      • Recognize and seizes opportunities for process improvement through automation and efficiency

      Required Qualifications

      • Graduate degree in Analytics/Statistics/Computer Science/Math/Economics OR Undergraduate degree in related field WITH relevant data/SAS programming experience
      • Master's degree or Bachelor's degree with 2-5 years of relevant experience
      • Experience programming using Base SAS - emphasizing the use of the Data Step, Proc SQL, and SAS Macros & Macro variables
      • Methodical and process oriented in work tasks
      • Excellent organizational skills and extreme attention to detail
      • Analytical mindset and passion for problem solving
      • Propensity for asking questions and using additional resources to find solutions when faced with a problem
      • Ability to perform in both team and individual environments
      • Strong verbal and written communication skills with others from a variety of technical backgrounds

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Prior experience with ETL processes, such as exploring, cleaning, and standardizing otherwise 'messy' data
      • Prior experience with ticketing systems such as JIRA
      • SAS Certification
      • Experience programming in other languages such as Powershell
      • Experience interacting with APIs (Specifically pulling data)
